2025 Nissan Patrol Breaks Cover: Taking on the LandCruiser Head-On

Patrol vs. LandCruiser: Nissan's Latest SUV Means Business

Inside the cabin, the Patrol targets buyers for either Mercedes, Range Rover or Lincoln with its luxurious features, like dual 14.3-inch displays that span over 28 inches across the dashboard. The addition of pneumatic massage seats further enhances the premium feel, making it a standout in its class.

Cooling has gotten a major upgrade with the removal of the belt-driven fans. The new Patrol now uses a pair of electric fans and features the largest cooling system ever on a Nissan vehicle.

The new infotainment system comes loaded with a suite of Google features, including Google Maps, which can be displayed right in front of the driver. It also includes a head-up display with critical vehicle information and a Google Assistant with cloud-based voice recognition for seamless speech interpretation.

The all-new Patrol is here, and it marks Nissan's move toward a more luxurious and premium direction. It sports a strong yet visually satisfying design that stands out. Nissan's premium approach goes beyond just the looks—it's also evident in the features, which, while familiar, are impressive and definitely pleasing to hear about.

There were plenty of rumors floating around, from design renders to spec lists, so some of us already had a clue that Nissan was dropping the V8. Now it’s confirmed: the new Patrol is going to be powered by a V6, with Nissan offering two engine options—a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 and a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6.

Technology is a big deal for the 2025 Nissan Patrol, packed with a bunch of new features under the hood that are sure to get buyers excited.

A segment-first climate control feature uses infrared biometrics to measure the skin temperatures of everyone in all three rows. This allows the system to adjust the air conditioning to fit each person’s needs—super handy for hot climates like the Middle East. You might recognize this feature from the Infiniti QX80, well actually if you noticed a lot of the infinity interior and technology has been integrated into the Nissan patrol, which is not a surprise and was expected to be seen.

We can see the integration of a new camera system to help improve the visibility around the vehicle which is must needed for a vehicle of such size. The front-mounted camera, which offers a 170-degree view, pairs with front and rear cross traffic alerts to help you see around intersections.

The Patrol maintains its hydraulically-assisted steering system while introducing a semi-autonomous lane-centering function, similar to the one found on the 300 Series LandCruiser.

While the off-road specs are still to be confirmed, Nissan mentions some upgrades. The Patrol now has better approach and departure angles and the air suspension can boost ride height by 70mm for off-road driving. It also features a rear differential lock, a full-time four-wheel drive system, and options to switch to 4H and 4L.

You’ll get new drive modes including Rock, Sand, Mud, Standard, Eco, and Sport. As for colors, there’ll be seven to choose from, such as Forest Green (a new standout color), Pearl White, Mineral Black, Grey Metallic, Grand Blue, and Silver Metallic.

The Patrol is set to hit the roads in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other GCC countries starting November 1st. Interestingly, it will also be known as the Patrol in Australia, rather than the Armada. Despite its launch across the Middle East, it's a bit surprising that a diesel engine option hasn't been announced yet.
